Tinkerbell's Fantasy
Completed:
Size: 72" x 72"
Description: The empty background space left a wonderful opportunity to quilt what Linda viewed as a kind of birth or transformation; each butterfly from the same source, each finding its own wings and way, and finally coming full circle in the cycle of life. The variety of colors and kinds of thread add depth and dimension to the quilting background. Freehand trapunto areas add interest and movement in the original interpretative quilting.
Cheri cut all the pieces of this quilt from a single piece of beautiful Dutch fabric and then machine appliquéd them to the solid background fabric. The fiberglass bells and Swarovski crystals were added after quilting.
